QUICK QUESTION FOR YOU...

What if you could Facilitate Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging (DEIAB) training to all your team members?

Our DEIAB online course will provide participants with the necessary awareness, content knowledge, and skills to foster staff development and mutual respect for people from diverse cultures and backgrounds and promote equitable work practices when exploring issues of diversity and inclusion.

Cultivating Community training is a 4 Module Self-paced Course

Participants will engage in activities and discussions that will increase their own understanding of identity and diversity and, in turn, reduce incidents of prejudice and discrimination in the workforce. DEIAB training culminates in the development of a relevant action project focusing on the specific diversity needs of your organization.

The goal of this course is to shift mindsets, behaviors, and practices to create more diverse, equitable and inclusive teams and workspaces.

If your organization or institution is serious about creating diverse and inclusive cultural changes, then this is the course for you!

  • Learn how to recruit and retain a diverse talent pool
  • Create a culture that enhances a sense of belonging for all employees to improve employee retention
  • Create access points to engage potential new markets and consumers
  • Increase profitability

Why is this change important?

The U.S. is becoming more diverse, with a growing majority non-white, multi-ethnic population.  Organizations have an obligation and responsibility to create environments where all stakeholders feel a sense of inclusion, belonging, and safety.  This is important because according to the 2020 US Census report, there is a sharp increase in Hispanic, Asion, and multi-racial Americans.  Additionally, the white population decreased for the first time in history.  This is impactful to note because there are implications for business leaders and owners across all systems.

Meet Melita & Eryca.  We are here to teach you how to implement diversity, equity, inclusion, access & belonging in your workspace.

We created Cultivating Community to help you:

Create and sustain inclusive cultures

In the development of initiatives, challenges, impacts and next steps to support the implementation of DEIAB practices

Expand your awareness around diversity equity, inclusion, access and belonging

The topics in Cultivating Community are the following:

Module 1: What is DEIAB and why is it important to the success of your organization?

A positive and inclusive culture is incredibly important to the success of any organization and creating and maintaining this culture is the responsibility of every employee in that organization. This session will explore how an organization can create a more supportive and engaging workplace by understanding the perceptual, institutional, and organizational systems that impact the ways people engage with each other.

Module 2: Exploring our Social Identities:

Understanding the impact of our similarities and differences in the workplace. Social identity is based on the group in which a person belongs, which can be age, ethnicity, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, education, physical ability, and socioeconomic status. These identities are determined by long established systems and structures, unconscious biases, and social norms and beliefs.

Module 3: What is implicit bias and how does it impact the workplace?

Implicit (unconscious) biases are “attitudes or stereotypes that affect our understanding, actions, and decisions in an unconscious manner. Meaning we are not even aware that they are occurring. These biases are prevalent and permeate throughout the workplace at all levels. What are the workplace implications of implicit bias?

Module 4: How do we create a workspace that is diverse, equitable and inclusive?

What are your specific DEIAB goals? What accountability measures are in place? Consider your people processed: how do you recruit, hire, and retain a diverse group? What are your current inclusion strategies and are they data driven and measurable?
